Many community marketers get really excited when they first join a company. After all, they loved the merchandise, the compensation plan, or the people or all three. After a day or two, many them begin asking themselves the following problem 'where would you find people planning to join Avon'?

Consider it this way. Would a divorce attorney cold call their family and friends to find out if they are arranging a divorce and try to find business? They don't. They only use folks who are already arranging a divorce and don't have to encourage them to begin one.

People are information seekers once they are on the market to purchase any such thing other than a convenience item.
